“Being a Doer of the Word”

What it Means to Walk in Christ’s Footsteps- A Study in Matthew Chapters 5-7

The Importance of the Local Church in Campus Ministry (Matthew 16:16-18, Ephesians 4:10-12)
Kyle Austin, August 8, 2016

I want us to capture the principle that the church is what Christ founded, equipped, empowered, and promised to build! He never promised to build a “Campus Ministry”. Christ has promised to build your campus ministry as it is an extension and ministry of your local church!

Matthew 16:16-18

16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (KJV)

Ephesians 4:10-12

10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (KJV)
